Pandemic enhances AIDA webinar programby Chris Rodd, AIDA Vice President – Asia Pacific, Presidential Council Representative – Australia As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact on lives around the globe and creates a new reality for us all, AIDA, like other professional associations around the world, has had to adapt to changed circumstances. The inability to meet face to face with friends old and new has a huge downside but also an upside. AIDA has connected to a much wider international audience than before the pandemic, through an enhanced webinar program. Webinars are the new norm and AIDA has hosted many, including:
Upcoming events planned and scheduled include:
Further events are in the pipeline, so regularly check the AIDA website for updates so you can register for seminars of interest to you. Unfortunately, many are scheduled at times less than ideal for AILA and NZILA members, but the events are uploaded to the AIDA site and can be viewed at your convenience later and are free for all members. For traditional events, the first planned F2F AIDA meeting is the AIDA Europe conference, rescheduled from 2020 to 18-20 May 2022. It will probably incorporate an AIDA Presidential Council meeting, which will be the first non-virtual event since September 2019. AIDA World Congress – MelbourneThe AIDA World Congress in Melbourne, originally planned for October next year, has been moved to October 2023 to ensure Australia can host as many international guests as possible. I encourage all members to visit the AIDA site and register for future events of interest to you. AIDA is as much your organisation as AILA and NZILA and we would love you to participate in events and connect with the global membership. |
